Yes, it’s true. Comedy Flashback Week ‘09 is the #1 Internet festival on the Internet.

For the tenth year in a row, millions of people all over the U.S. and Japan will get a chance to put their dated comedy online. This is the #1 online comedy festival in the world and we would know. We are a fucking magazine.

Dying to be a performer in the festival? Simply post dated or old comedy things to your personal blog, Twitter, or The Official Forums and mention it’s for Comedy Flashback Week ‘09. On twitter use the hashtag #comedyflashback. Or you can send submissions directly to the CFW. Do any of these things and…BOOM. You’re a performer. In. A. Festival.

Applicants are encouraged to post the following: comedy that is no longer topical, videos where you look like a completely different person, photos (preferably videos) of short-form college improv teams, the first sketch 8-page sketch you ever wrote, bad PhotoShops, things that are actually still funny, and more. The list goes on and on. But, CFW ‘09 doesn’t. It ends on Friday. Which Friday, we’ll never know.

Unfortunately, producing an online festival costs millions of dollars and the producers are never around because they are out doing whatever it takes to keep this festival going.

If you would like to donate money to the festival, please find Jill Morris when she’s at UCB and give her some money.
